Many societies around the world share a profound respect and care for their elders. In my view, there is a disproportionate rate of attention to seniors in the United States. What can we do to bridge this great divide?

Harlem’s own William Hamer has held some of the most prominent leadership positions in both the private and non-profit sectors over a 35 year career of service. With a MA in Psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University, advanced clinical study at the William Alanson White Institute for Psychology and an adjunct professor of Psychology at the College of New Rochelle – William Hamer currently serves as the Director of the Harlem NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) under the auspices of the Abyssinian Development Corporation in Central Harlem.
